What is the payoff for coming this far in your career? In your life as an artist? The other day, I was hiking up this hill behind my house and I had a realization about what it means to be an artist who has put in a good decade or two (or three or four) into their craft. We set out as youngsters with certain expectations about our dreams and aspirations coming true. And then ten, twenty, thirty years later we find ourselves having taken such an different path than we may have anticipated, am I right?
